Hello friends,

As we close out Q3, I am so humbled by all of you who helped us exceed our goal this weekend!  We ended up raising $4,000 for ALS patients, which brought the total amount raised for the Suke Strong Foundation in 2025 to just over $30,000.  Thank you to everyone who was able to donate.  Your gift will make a horrible diagnosis a little bit brighter.

Alright, let's get to this week's takes.

Marketing Tip: Intent Data Starts with Owning the Right Email Addresses

This week I sat in on a workshop Kara Brown hosted with a group of entrepreneurs, and she dropped a gem about intent data. Intent data only works if you own the email addresses of your total addressable market (TAM). Without that list, you cannot track engagement or know who is leaning in.

So here is the challenge. Make sure you own the email addresses of everyone in your TAM. That means building and maintaining a database that is yours, not rented from a platform you do not control.

And once you have it, keep it clean. A bloated, outdated list helps no one. Scrub it every 90 days so you know the data is fresh and reliable.

The payoff is huge. When you own the list and keep it clean, you are on your way to unlocking intent data that shows you exactly who is interested and when they are ready to talk. That kind of insight turns cold outreach into warm conversations.

Quick steps to keep your list healthy:

  • Remove inactive addresses
  • Fix typos and bounced emails
  • Segment by relevance so you target the right people

If you'd like to dig into this, let's chat.

Mindset Shift: Embrace Discomfort

Ever hit the gym after some time off and feel the soreness for two or three days? It hurts to sit down, it hurts to get back up, and it even hurts to laugh. But deep down you know that pain is not a bad thing. It is proof that your muscles were stretched and challenged, and that growth is happening.

Life works the same way. The most meaningful growth rarely comes from comfort. It comes from stepping into the hard things, the conversations you want to avoid, or the new skills that intimidate you. It stings in the moment, but on the other side you realize it made you stronger.

Soreness is not a regret. It is an indicator that you are getting stronger.

This week, lean into the discomfort of growth, whether it's physical, mental, emotional, relational or spiritual. Pick one thing that makes you uncomfortable, step into it, and trust that the short-term pain is building long-term strength.
